Dr. Kelly Hider

Dr. Kelly Hider is a Buffalo native and is thrilled to be back in the city. She grew up in the Southtowns as the youngest of three and her primary role models included Elle Woods (Legally Blonde) and Tony Stark (Iron Man). As a girl, her love of dogs surpassed all else and her dogs were her constant companions through childhood and youth. She attended Immaculata Academy for high school and the State University of New York in Fredonia forher Bachelors in biochemistry. Throughout her learning, the science of biology and chemistry fascinated her in every alchemical way. It was during her undergraduate studies that she realized that her love of animals and her love of science could be combined. Throughout undergraduate schooling, Kelly worked as a veterinary assistant at a small general practice in the Southtowns. In 2019 she left Buffalo to attend Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca NY. While away she further grew her knowledge and passion for the human-animal bond. She worked at a small animal clinic throughout school and learned so much from those she worked with.  Her two dogs, Buffy and Dockson, also enjoyed the 4-year sojourn to Ithaca where they accompanied Kelly on every outdoor adventure imaginable, and even acquired a feline brother Jesper. The whole pack is back in Buffalo and excited to discover new adventures. Kelly's non-veterinary interests include hiking, reading, and games of allsorts and her veterinary interests include Fear-free medicine, senior pet care, behavior modification, and all the ways to build, improve, and maintain the human-animal bond that owners share with their pets.
